Welcome

Welcome from the Head of School

We are delighted that you've shown an interest in our school and hope that you find our website useful.

My name is Deb Hunt and I am the Head of School at Ham Dingle. I consider it a privilege to work with the enthusiastic and fantastic children; the committed and dedicated staff team and the supportive families. that make up the Ham Dingle Community. I have worked at Ham Dingle for many years and have seen the it change and grow over time to become the school that it is today, encouraging pupils to develop a love of learning and preparing them for the next stage of their education and future challenges.

At Ham Dingle, we strongly believe that every child is different, yet equally important and valued. We strive to provide a safe, caring and happy environment which nurtures all areas of a child's growth and development. We give high priority to academic excellence through our delivery of a broad-based and balanced curriculum, but also value achievement and attainment in other areas such as Sport, Technology and the Arts.

In September 2019, Ham Dingle joined the United Learning Trust and embarked on a new stage in the journey to become an outstanding school.

I hope that you will enjoy looking around our website and that it provides you with an insight into some of the wonderful opportunities that our children experience.

Welcome from the children

As the Year 6 School Councillors, we are very proud of our school and we would like to tell you a bit more about it.

The pupils at Ham Dingle play well together and care for one another. They are kind and welcoming to any new children in their class. As well as Ham Dingle being a friendly place, it is also a fun place. For instance...despite the good amount of challenging work, the teachers do well at making lessons fun as well as educational.

We also have lots of great opportunities; JASS, John Muir Award, Street Dance, rugby, cricket, football, orchestra, drama, choir, multi sports, the list goes on!

The playgrounds are great: there is a massive field, two large playgrounds and activity areas. We also have Year 6 Playground Leaders on the calm and active zones.

We also have an Edible Playground where we plant and grow lots of different plants which we can harvest and eat. We have a lovely cookery area for pupils to learn to cook.

Ham Dingle provides opportunities for each year group to go on school trips to visit new exciting and educational places throughout the school year. For example; the Environment Zone, castles, Thinktank, the Black Country Museum and residentials at Plas Gwynant and Pioneer.

We would recommend Ham Dingle as a fantastic place to send your child!
