Welcome from the Head of School
We are delighted that you've shown an interest in our school and hope that you find our website useful.
My name is Deb Hunt and I am the Head of School at Ham Dingle. I consider it a privilege to work with the enthusiastic and fantastic children; the committed and dedicated staff team and the supportive families. that make up the Ham Dingle Community. I have worked at Ham Dingle for many years and have seen the it change and grow over time to become the school that it is today, encouraging pupils to develop a love of learning and preparing them for the next stage of their education and future challenges. We are proud that many of our past pupils choose Ham Dingle for their own children.
At Ham Dingle, we strongly believe that every child is different, yet equally important and valued. We strive to provide a safe, caring and happy environment which nurtures all areas of a child's growth and development. We give high priority to academic excellence through our delivery of a broad-based and balanced curriculum, but also value achievement and attainment in other areas such as Sport, Technology and the Arts.
We are a two-form entry school consisting of 14 classes from Reception through to Year 6. We have an on-site kitchen where hot and cold meals are freshly prepared each day and children can choose food from a published menu which changes every term. All our classrooms are designed to support the childrens' learning and are very consistent throughout the school. This helps children transition smoothly from one year to the next. The school has ipads and laptops which are used to enhance learning across the curriculum. Work from children is celebrated around the school on corridor displays and their achievements are marked using our rewards system. Outdoor learning is very important to us and we have an exciting Forest School tucked away at the end of our field where children get to cook on an open fire, learn woodcraft skills and explore nature.
In September 2019, Ham Dingle joined the United Learning Trust and embarked on a new stage in the journey to become an outstanding school.
I hope that you will enjoy looking around our website and that it provides you with an insight into some of the wonderful opportunities that our children experience.
Welcome from the children
As the Ham Dingle School Councillors, we would like to welcome you to Ham Dingle Primary School.
You will learn lots of things without even knowing it! Our teachers are fun and creative but also very kind.
We have lots of clubs, including Cross Country, Choir, Dance, Book Worms and many other after-school opportunities.
In our Edible Playground we grow fruit and vegetables which we can use in our Food Technology lessons. The school grounds are extensive and we have a Forest School and large playing field and playgrounds.
Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to go on many educational visits but in the future we will be back to normal and will be visiting new places.
We would recommend \Ham Dingle as a creative and welcoming place for your child.
