This half term we are looking at people who help us in and out of school. We will be having lots of visitors in to share information about their jobs.
Our topic this half term is technology. We will be looking at the different types of technology we use and how we use it. The children have been using cameras to take pictures of things around the classroom and their friends.
National Storytelling Week
This week we celebrated national storytelling week by bringing our favourite book to school. We shared our favourite book with our class and discussed our favourite parts and characters.
"My favourite book is called 'A Squash and a Squeeze'. I like it because it is very funny. My favourite character is the goat."
"My favourite book is the Lion King. I like the part where the mum holds Simba up."
Following our interest in robots, we have been dancing like robots in PE. We copied a robot dance then made up our own moves to some robotic music.
“Robots move with straight arms” “Robots are made of metal”
We have been thinking about people who help us but this week we thought about animals that help us. Today we were lucky enough to have Karl visit us with his guide dog Quasia. Karl explained to the children how Quasia helps him to be independent. Quasia was a real star and let all the children stroke her.
Remote Controlled Car
Miss Walker brought in her remote controlled racing car. She showed us how fast it could go and let us have a go in the classroom!
Today our families joined us for our Parent Pop-in. Today’s theme was Chinese New Year and we had great fun making Chinese blossom pictures, cards, Chinese flags, dragons, lanterns and fans. We made lucky red envelope and filled them with a chocolate coin. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
Today we all came to school dressed as Superheroes. We took part in lots of superhero activities, using our skills to tackle obstacle courses and laser beams. Thank you to all the parents who helped us sort out our costumes.
Supertato and the Evil Pea!
Something strange happened in our classroom on Monday. There were lots of poor vegetables that were trapped. We investigated to find out who it could be, Evil Pea! We had to catch him so we set to work to build a trap.
We thought we'd trapped the Evil Pea forever until...
EVIL PEA INVASION!
There were peas everywhere in our classroom today, we had to come up with a master plan to trap them all!
World Book Day
Today we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters. We invited our parents to share a book with us in school. The HSA had a cake sale and we got the chance to spend our money and choose a cake. Thank you to everyone who helped us with our costumes.

Today we planted some potatoes in some big pots. We’ve watered them and put them in our outside area. The weather was so lovely that we cleared our garden area and cleared all the weeds.
Easter Bonnet Parade
Look at some of our fantastic Easter Bonnets! Thank you for to all our adults that helped us make them at home. We hope you enjoyed our parade.
Chocolate cornflake cakes
As it is nearly Easter we made chocolate cornflake cakes. Mrs Penn helped us to melt the chocolate in the microwave, mix in the cornflakes and put the mixture in a cake case. We added some mini eggs on the top and at them in snack time. Yum!
