Curriculum

At Ham Dingle our curriculum is constantly evolving to create exciting learning opportunities and experiences to make learning irresistible to all our children. Although maths and English are vitally important subjects we believe all other areas of learning are essential for primary age children to discover their talents, develop wider skills and find an intrinsic interest that will encourage them to learn more and continue learning throughout their lives. We use the National Curriculum for England as a framework in all subjects (locally agreed syllabus for Religious Studies) and always endeavour to ensure children achieve high standards in English and maths. However, our curriculum offer is broad, with specialist teaching in some areas such as music and French, and is embellished by exciting challenges, extensive opportunities both within and beyond the classroom and wide ranging experiences we encourage all to participate in.

Our children will tell you they love learning and you can see it and feel it in every classroom, creating a unique atmosphere and climate for learning which is Ham Dingle.

The key parts of  our curriculum are planned from the Early Years Framework (for Reception) and the National Curriculum for England (for Years 1 - 6). Links to these documents are provided below
At Ham Dingle we plan beyond the requirements of these frameworks in order to extend the learning experiences and opportunities for our children

Curriculum Development Staff Teams

We are currently reviewing our curriculum and will be updating the information on each of the subject areas during the spring term.
