Children use the Rising Stars scheme of work called Switched On Computing. They learn about coding, programming software to respond to commands, how to create website pages and lots more of exciting things! Children also do creative writing and maths activities to enhance their learning at home. Below are some examples of the work that children do across the year.
E-Safety Workshop for Parents
Parents and carers were invited to a workshop about e-safety during Parents Evenings. Mr Wilkinson talked through some of the things the children learn about being safe online at school and what parents can do at home. The strategies outlined include setting a screen time limit, using password protected parental controls and the appropriateness of allowing children to play on games that were PEGI rated at above their age range. Please see the document below for more information. If you would like to speak to someone, please ask for Mr Allen, our Designated Safeguarding Lead, or Mr Wilkinson for more information.
Tuesday 5th February was national Safer Internet Day! We had assemblies talking together about how we can be safe online and the main theme, which was consent. Children were excited to tell us all they knew about being on the internet and how we can be safe. Year 4 and 5 were also told about an exciting new scheme we are putting in to place called Digital Leaders. Watch this space for more news!
